You don’t need to spend your wedding day worrying about what to do in front of a camera. My approach is to give you room to be yourselves while offering direction when you need it.
I’ll document the moments as they happen, from getting ready with your favorite people to the ceremony, the celebration, and everything in between. We’ll make time for photographs of the two of you, too, without turning your entire day into a photoshoot.
My work combines documentary storytellings with a vintage, film-inspired look. Think honest expressions, movement, interesting light, and photographs that feel more like memories than a collection of poses.

I love that you are going to be getting married in Durham and I am so excited for you to start dreaming up the perfect day. Durham is my home and, because of that, holds a special place in my heart. I know the ins and outs of Durham. How the city moves and how the light dances through the trees and across the historic brick buildings. The most amazing coffee shops and the best places to have an intimate moment in the middle of chaos.
Between the historic architecture, artsy shops, community feel, historic venues, and unique spaces, I truly believe that Durham is the perfect place to get married.

Do you photograph weddings outside of Durham?
Yes. I’m based in Durham, North Carolina, and photograph weddings throughout the Triangle, including Raleigh and Chapel Hill. I also travel for destination weddings and elopements

What is your wedding photography style?
My approach is documentary and emotion-driven, with a vintage film-inspired aesthetic. I focus on genuine interactions and the small details that make your day yours, while offering gentle direction when it helps

What if we’re awkward in front of the camera?
You don’t need to know how to pose. We’ll get to know each other before the wedding, and I’ll help you feel comfortable without asking your to act like someone you’re not (it’s kind of my super power). Most of the time, the best photographs happen when you have room to interact naturally.

Julia is a naturally connective person - her authenticity made us feel right at home from the first session we had with her, and that shines through in her photos! She took our engagement photos and wedding photos, and we LOVE them all. They have so much life in them! She plays with life and movement in unique and beautiful ways, and yet our love story was still very clearly the subject of the photos. One little example of who she is...I lost the back of my earring from my great grandfather. Without missing a beat, she got down on her hands and knees in the dirt looking for it. Then, she took her own earring off and handed the back to me. We came away from the experience just wanting to hang out with this fun and lovely person. Durham Wedding Packages
4 Hour Package- $2800
This is package is ideal for couples who are having a small wedding and just want to have the ceremony and a bit before and after covered.
6 Hour Package- $3400
My most popular package. This is perfect if you want photos before the weddings (getting ready, a first look, drinks with the guys, etc…) and some of the reception (toasts, cake cutting, a bit of dancing).
8 Hour Package- $4000
8 hours is a great amount of time if you want a more in-depth wedding day. This gives you plenty of time to have slow moments with most of the day covered.
